Half Marathon pace Group

How does joining a pace group at Disney Half Marathon work?

Pace groups are set up throughout the corrals depending on the goal finish time. The faster groups are in earlier/lower corrals and slower groups are in the later/higher corrals. According to the runDisney expo guide “your pacer will meet you in the designated pace group meeting location one hour before your corral closes. If you do not wish to meet your pacer at this location you can meet them in your corral.” You do not need to sign up. You can just start running with the pace group.

Do pace groups do run/walk?

Yes. The specific run/walk interval they maintain is specific to that finishing time and the run/walk intervals are listed on the pace group graphic.

What happens if I have to go to the bathroom or want a character stop and I’m running with a pace group?

The pace group will continue running. If you need/want to stop for any reason you can, and it is up to you to catch up after your stop if you want to continue running with the pace group.

How do I get to the Disney race start?

To get to the Disney World starting line there are a few options. For all races there are bus/shuttles that go back and forth between the resorts and the starting line. For the half marathon and full marathon runners and spectators can also take the monorail. See the information below for specific timing.

Speak to the resort staff at your resort to find out exactly where the shuttle busses will stop.

Can non-runners take the bus/shuttle to the Disney race start?

Yes! Spectators and runners can take the bus/shuttle to the Epcot parking lot for the Disney World races.

It’s easy, just go to the designated location at your resort and hop on the bus. If runners are getting off, wait for them to disembark and then you can hop on. If you are coming from the finish line back to the resort, get on the bus in the area designated for your resort.

How do I know what corral I’ll be in for Disney Marathon (or other races)?

You will find out what corral you’re in for each race when you pick up your bib at the Expo at least the day before your race. Some runners will try to extrapolate their corral placement based on bib number and corresponding with runners who know they’re in at least Corral B (Platinum club runDisney members) or runners in Corral A.

Ali Marty

Hi! I’m Ali. I’ve been in the health and wellness space since graduating with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2012. I worked in the typical outpatient clinic with active men and women with orthopedic injuries (shin splints, Achilles tendonitis, muscle and ligament tears, knee pain, IT Band pain, plantar fasciitis, and hip and knee arthritis until 2018 at which point I started Mobile Physical Therapy in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over the past few years I’ve transitioned to helping women running runDisney races after they’ve had an injury and they want to finish strong and enjoy the rest of their runcation.
